Hans-Joachim Marseille, nicknamed Stern von Afrika (“Star of Africa”), was a Luftwaffe fighter pilot and Ace of Aviation during World War II. He stood out for his aerial combats during the campaign in North Africa, being considered as one of the best fighter pilots, the greatest expert in Deflection Shooting and a true specialist in turning combats. He achieved 158 officially confirmed shootdowns always flying a Messerschmitt Bf 109.
