It was the most versatile aircraft of the Luftwaffe, which was present from the beginning to the end of the war, in many different variants. It stood out for its powerful engine and improved weaponry, although it was often criticized for performance issues due to its weight and aerodynamic drag.
It was the most produced aircraft during this period, especially its G or Gustav version, introduced from 1942.
