Focke Wulf FW 190 D9 JV44

Model: Focke Wulf FW 190 D-9 JV44
Pilot: Heinz Sachsenberg
München-Riem, April 1945

The Fw 190 D-9 was part of JV44 (Jagdverband 44), an elite squadron made up of the Luftwaffe’s best aces and led by Adolf Galland. Its main mission was to defend the vulnerable Me 262 during takeoff and landing.
They were nicknamed the “Parrot Squadron” (Papagei Staffel) because of their unique paint scheme, which was designed to prevent German anti-aircraft defenses (often inexperienced) from firing at them.

The scale model kit is from Tamiya, in 1:48 scale, built out of box with photoetched parts of the seat belts.

This is a 1:48 scale model. If you are interested in another scale or in a different decoration than the one you see in the pictures, send me a message and we will discuss the details.
